Maria Weber

Obituary of Maria Angela Weber

Maria Weber passed peacefully, in her sleep, on March 1st, 2021, two months short of her 86th birthday, to join her Venetian ancestors and all her dogs and horses that were so much part of her life.

She was born Mariangela Gradenigo, daughter of Count Pier Buzzi Gradenigo, an Italian diplomat, and Jane Grasselli from Cleveland/Ohio. She lived in Venezuela, France, Switzerland, and the US (since 1978).

Maria, a retired RN, was multilingual and very active in the Monterey Peninsula, with the Arthritis Foundation, the Auxiliary of CHOMP, the Carmel Red Cross, and other local organizations. She had an avid interest in Egyptology. Together with her husband Bill, she chaperoned their company, Language Services International, to national and international fame as a prime provider of simultaneous interpretation services worldwide.

Maria is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bill, her daughter Armelle LeBon of Salinas, and her beloved grandson Joshua Silverblatt and his wife Caitlyn of Lansing, Michigan.
