Obituary of Eva Flores

On July 28th, 2021, our beloved Mom and Nanie went to her eternal home. She passed peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren in the loving home she created, reminding us right up until the end that “life is what you make it.”

Eva was born and raised in Monterey, CA to Cosimo and Frances Randazzo. She was the third born of the beautiful Randazzo sisters: Rose (Duggie), Pansy (Peter, Vince), Christine (Carmelo). Their strong, close-knit Sicilian family began many beautiful traditions, such as camping in Big Sur, vacationing at Konocti Resort on Clearlake, and many large family gatherings sharing delicious homemade Italian food.

Eva was a parishioner of San Carlos Cathedral where her strong Catholic faith, instilled by her parents, began at a young age. As a young girl she would often walk to church by herself to quietly pray alone. She was drawn to the Lord and passed on that beautiful legacy to her family. As a teenager she prayed for “someone she could love.” Her prayers were answered when she was introduced to Horace “Les” Flores and on June 6th, 1954, she married the love of her life. They shared 62 wonderful years together.

Les and Eva raised four children: Roselyn (Manuel Real), Paul (Linda), Gus (Jody), and Les Flores. Being a devoted wife and mother was Eva’s heart and soul. She was an amazing homemaker and her greatest love was celebrating and vacationing with her children and 12 grandchildren: Victoria, Eva (Zach), Roselyn (Bryan), Les, Andres (Julia), Paul, Marco, Nicole (Nason), Gus (Rachelle), Blake, Les and Antonio, whom all adored her, along with her great-children: Jaycie, Jackson, Kody, Tessa (Campbell); Tristyn, Victoria, Zachary, and Aliyah (Goldman); Olivia and Aiden (Ferrill); Ava and Charlie (Flores); and Giorgia (Flores). Children always brought Nanie joy and made her laugh. She always said, “Laughter is the best medicine!”

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, Aug 4th, at 4:00pm at Mission Mortuary. The funeral will be held on Thursday, August 5th at 10:00am at San Carlos Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shrine of Saint Jude or San Carlos Cathedral.
