Obituary of Carolyn Dolores Craver

Carolyn Dolores Craver, 84, beloved mother & dear friend to many, passed away on 8/6/21, after a courageous battle with lung cancer & emphysema. Her loving family was at her side. She will be dearly missed & will forever be in our hearts & minds. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Allan Winton , sister Helen Lundsford & brothers Kenneth & Earl Hawkins & great grandson Alex Lopez. She is survived by her daughters, Cherri Ann Wilson-Thornton (husband Terry Thornton) & Donna K. Wilson (wife Lauren Wilson), granddaughters, Jessica Kielak (husband David Kielak), Ashley Thornton (partner Kurtis Carpenter), great grandson Tyler Richmond, great granddaughter Gianna Kielak & niece Diane Lundsford. She was born in Fulton County, GA & was raised in Plant City, FL. She then moved to Tampa, Fl where she was a longtime resident & recently moved to Monterey, CA. She was a judicial assistant with the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit until her retirement in 2003. She was a passionate animal lover & an accomplished pianist, vocalist, & saxophone player. She dearly loved her friends & her “Village” on the block. She was a fabulous cook & loved entertaining & hosting dinner parties. She was a classy & beautiful Southern Belle with an infectious laugh that could light up a room. She loved fishing, being on the water, birdwatching & spending time with her beloved dog & faithful companion, Scooter. Our family would like to give special thanks to Moffitt Cancer Center, Hospice of the Central Coast, CA & her ever-present primary care physician, Dr. Annilea Gunn for the wonderful care they provided her. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Moffitt Cancer Center, Hospice of the Central Coast, CA or Hillsborough County Animal Services. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey CA 93940 on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2pm PDT/5pm EST and will be available to view virtually through Tribucast.
