Lawrence Miller

Obituary of Lawrence Kay Miller

The family of Larry Miller mourns the loss of their beloved husband, father and grandfather. Larry will be remembered by many for the romantic, often fog shrouded views of the local area in his paintings. After teaching Studio Art and Art History, Larry took early retirement in 1990 to devote full time to painting. Larry loved hiking and backpacking in Yosemite, as well as along the California coast, and much of the inspiration for his paintings was gained from these excursions. Larry was an avid baseball fan, and was delighted when a portrait he painted of Bob Feller "The Big Right Hander" became a part of the Baseball Hall of Fame art Collection. Larry leaves behind a legacy and a body of work that has enriched the lives of so many, and it gives his family great joy in knowing this. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lorita, Son, Thomas Miller (Raquel), daughter, Elizabeth McGrath (Mike) and five granddaughters. Service Information
