Obituary of Manuel Alonso

Manuel Alonso was born on Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey to Albaro and Consuelo Alonso, from Northern Spain. After graduating from Monterey High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army and returned from Europe a veteran of World War II. In 1950, he met Leona Costa, the love of his life, and they married shortly after. They moved to Pacific Grove with their two sons in 1953 and lived there for the rest of their lives, where Manuel spent most of his time tending his beautiful garden and traveling with his wife.Manuel joins his beloved wife, Leona, his parents, Albaro and Consuelo, his brother, Joseph, his sister, Mary, and his granddaughter, Alona. He is survived by his sons, Joseph (Lourdes) and Stephen (Nancy), and his grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Service Information
