Obituary of Irotilde Madamba

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irotilde "Mama Ruth" "Doctor Ruth" Bravo-Madamba. She was born in the Philippines, the youngest of four children, to her parents Victor and Honoria Bravo on October 6, 1932. She immigrated to the United States, married and completed her education to become a physician in anesthesiology. She practiced for 20+ years and in 1987 became the owner/administrator of the Carmel Valley Guest Home for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients. Beyond administrator, she was passionate about giving individual care and support to patients and their families. Her family will sadly miss her boundless energy that was evident even into her 84th year and her love and support given to her grandchildren and her passion for traveling, driving, shopping, gardening and her love of food. She was married to Rolando for 56 years and is survived by her daughter, Raquel Hoag (Tom), son Rene Madamba (Jean), grandchildren, Keilani, Alex, Nikko, Nathaniel and Sophia, great granddaughter, Anastasia, nieces, Brenda, Imelda, Jackie and Cathy and her grandniece, Rochelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 10am at Carmel Mission Basilica, 3080 Rio Rd., Carmel-by-the-Sea. Committal will follow in the San Carlos Cemetery, Monterey.
