After graduation from Paintsville High School in 1952, he attended the Naval Academy and graduated with distinction in 1956. Forrest was always focused and driven to excel at his educational goals. Forrest became a meteorological specialist in 1966 and joined the faculty at NPS in 1974 where he served as an assistant professor of meteorology until his retirement as a Commander in June 1982. He then served on the civilian faculty retiring after 24 years of teaching; a job he loved. He authored several studies guides and was the principal author of Forecasters Handbooks. Thermodynamics was his favorite course to teach. Forrest was always in demand for his great piano playing especially at Sanctuary Bible Church where he was a member for 40 years. He contributed to the music ministry for many years as well as serving as a deacon and an elder. Forrest is survived by his wife of 60 years, Madge Gambill Williams. He always said it was great being on Madge's team and he lovingly referred to her as, "My Magic Madge." Forrest and Madge have one daughter, Nina Ann Williams, whose artistic ability always made her father very proud.
