Aloha Joycie! Olive Joyce Peterson, 92 of Honolulu passed away October 24, 2016 in Carmel, California. Born September 30, 1924 in Shellbrook, Sasactoon, Canada. She lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for 58 years. For the last five years she shared her time living with her daughters in Hawaii and California. Preceding her parents Oscar & Annie Christianson, late husband Peter R. Peterson, twin brother Orville, brothers Clifford & Leslie and sisters Irene & Violet. She is survived by her two daughters Janice Hansen Zakin and Karen Carson Russ, son in law Jonathan Zakin. Grandchildren by Janice- Ryan, Tommy, Christina Schultz and Tatiana Zakin. Grandchildren by Karen- Kimberly, James & Garrett Carson and their spouses Lauren & Tanya Carson. Great Grandchildren- Jimmy Kyles & Callie Carson. A beautiful woman, a gifted artist who spent her life as a Real Estate Broker in Honolulu. She loved her martini's and ballroom dancing. Life of the party would be an understatement. She was a member of the Kaneohe Yacht Club and shared with her husband Peter, the ownership of the Kaneohe Bay Marina. A cancer survivor who never failed to show great strength and endless perseverance. Beloved and cared for by her daughters. Heaven received a treasure on October 24, 2016. The family wishes to extend great gratitude to the hospice care of Hospice of the Central Coast, Carmel, California and St. Francis Hospice, Hawaii for their support in her final days.
