Obituary of Eleanor Stracuzzi Roach

Eleanor Roach, age 89 passed away at Carmel Hills Care Center after suffering from a stroke June 11 Born to Cosimo and Giuseppa Stracuzzi of Monterey. She was a lifelong resident graduating Monterey High in 1945. She married Michael Roach and enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his passing June 2015. She missed him terribly, but now they are together again. Eleanor started working at a young age at the canneries of Cannery Row. While still in high school she started working for Dr William Carnazzo and later for his son Dr Gerald Carnazzo, for a total of 40 years. Eleanor was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the Civic Club and the Class of 1945 Reunion Committee. She was preceded in death by siblings, Rose Ferrante, Peggy Lucido, Paul Stracuzzi, Jack Stracuzzi, Josephine Garcia and Salvatore Stracuzzi. She is survived by son Michael (Rey), seven grandsons and two great-grandchildren, her sisters in-law - Letty and Barbara Stracuzzi, many nephews and nieces. Private burial services were held at San Carlos Cemetery, Monterey, California. Service Information
