Obituary of Frank Mercurio

Frank Mercurio passed away peacefully on Thursday April 7, 2016 at CHOMP at the age of 86. Born in Monterey on October 20, 1929 to Horace and Rose Mercurio, frank was a life long resident of Monterey. He married the love of his life, Gloria Tarallo in 1951 and celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2011, four months prior to Gloria's passing. Their life long love affair was a true inspiration and lasting legacy for their countless family and friends. Frank was the owner of Mercurio Insurance from 1956 until 1985 and continued selling insurance until 2008. Upon retirement he went to "work" at Coffee Mia with his son Horace until Frank's passing. Besides spending time with his family, Frank's passion was serving the community. He served on the Monterey City Planning Commission and Parks and Rec. Commission, coached numerous of his son's baseball teams, and was a member and past President of the Pacheco Club, Monterey Kiwanis, and many other community organizations. Frank is survived by four sons; Stephen (Mardelle), Frank (Sherri), Daniel (Kathy, deceased), and Horace (Sarina); ten grandchildren, Jennifer Brinker (Jon), Stephen Mercurio, Jason Mercurio, Taylor Mercurio, Frank Mercurio, Michael Mercurio, Daniel Mercurio, Cassie Ray (Joshua), Nicholas Mercurio and Allie Mercurio; three great-grandchildren, Georgia Rose and Samantha Rae Brinker, and Scarlet Laina Ray. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Rose Mercurio, his sister Katherine DiMaggio, and his granddaughter Emily Rose Mercurio.
