Dr. Fuerstner was simply the best Doctor I have ever known.
He is the standard in my eyes.
He was kind, brilliant, caring and a Doctor you could implicitly trust.
I have not met another, quite like him since.
I am grateful having known Dr. Fuerstner. He delivered my first born Daughter. He stayed in the Hospital through the entire, long birth experience. He will be missed.
Warm thoughts the Family

Dear Mrs Fuerstner and Family,
I'm so very sorry to learn of your loss. May the good memories of your shared life bring comfort to you. And thank you for the support you gave him which allowed his patients to experience a a unique combination of medical excellence and a very gentle, caring man.
As a patient of his, we reviewed his findings at his desk where I noticed a group photograph and commented on it. He proudly replied it was indeed his family reunion in Switzerland. I can still see that picture in my mind's eye and will always remember his big smile and pride in his family.
Respectfully,
Kathleen Gesell

Dear Brigitte and family,
Rebecca and I offer our deepest condolences for your loss of your husband and father. It was always nice to talk with Ron at the Quail “dog park” as Kirsten and Maddy chased around and wrestled with each other...... celebrating Roger Federer’s wins and commiserating about his losses.... among other topics....... he always had a genuine kind and gentle disposition.
Our thoughts and sympathy are with you.

Dr. Fuerstner was a colleague who I had the privilege of working with for 30 yrs. I always knew it would be a good day when I was assigned to his room in the MOR . He treated his team with respect as he performed surgeries on his patients. He was a true clinician and a skilled surgeon. It was a privilege to work with him. As one of the Golden Oldies Of the MOR, we continued our friendship in our retirement years as we would gather for our annual cookie exchange. This was a time to catch up on families, grandchildren and retirement. A true family man, respected surgeon , we will all continue to have memories of his presence in the OR.

32 years ago when my doctor, his colleague, Dr. Rydell, was away on vacation, Dr. Fuerstner delivered my daughter, Lauren Russell by emergency C-section. Later, during an appointment I had with Dr. Rydell, I remember him admiring Dr. Fuerstner's work. That made me laugh and realize the camaraderie Dr. Fuerstner shared with his colleague also extended to his patients. He shared stories of his family with me, and also one of his cat whom he, his wife and mother-in-law discovered one night upon returning home at dusk, laying fast asleep in the driveway of his home; cuddled up between the legs of a mountain lion. He remarked that the mountain lion was obviously "not hungry".
To his family, I want to thank you for supporting such a wonderful human being for so many years so that he could spread his medical expertise and genuine humanity with those of us who had the privilege of being in his presence. God bless you!

Sincere condolences to your family. Dr. Fuerstner cared for me for many years and I am saddened by his loss. His standard of care was caring. We always spoke so personally when he would see me and somehow he would remember details we had mentioned previously. His listening created a moment where something important that might have been overlooked was mentioned. He was a fine, kind human being and a most excellent doctor. Thank you.

My heart is truly sad to hear of Dr Fuerstner passing.
I have so many memories with him from sad to pure joy. He was my Dr since I was sixteen until his retirement. I had lost my first pregnancy and never thought I would be a mom. He promised me I would and sure enough 3 years later I was.
He delivered all three of my children. My first daughter Isabella was 2 weeks late and he kept telling me she is going to be a big baby over 8.5 pounds. When she was born she was 6 pounds. He must have had that nurse re weigh her 6 times. He said I am never wrong. Turned out he was not wrong further testing showed that the 2weeks extra had put stress on her.
Then 18 months later came my son Vito who is know 21 and it was a fast delivery and I swore the whole 3 hours. He laughed thru the entire delivery and told my husband after I never thought Jenn would swear like that. Then 20 months later my youngest daughter Julianna was born he had just returned from vacation and the office told me he would not make it for the delivery and I was a mess. Dr Fuerstner heard I was being admitted and came to the hospital just in enough time to delivery her. He told me after i promised you I would be here! He was my grandmothers Doctor, My moms Doctor and my Aunts Doctor. I'm sitting her crying as I write this because without Dr Fuerstner I would not have the beautiful family I do today. Family to him was everything he loved and adored all of you and always would share his beautiful family stories to me.
My deepest condolences! Rest In Peace Dr Fuerstner you will always be my angel. Jennifer Ferrante

Dr. Fuerstner was an incredibly kind , patient, warm hearted and thorough Dr. He became my Dr. In my late teens after my mother had seen him. He felt like family as he shared his thoughts about life and listened to me as I spoke about my issues. The worst part about leaving the Monterey area was giving him up as my Doctor. My thoughts for healing are being sent to his family.
