Obituary of Erika Daniels

Erika passed away peacefully at her home in Monterey on June 9, 2017 with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was born April 21, 1934 in Spokane, WA to George Schmiedehausen and Else Luekemeir. She graduated Cheney High School in 1952 and Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Erika married Jack R. Daniels, MD in 1957 in Spokane and moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1963. She was an excellent cook and hostess and enjoyed books, music, art, gardening and was a devoted member of a wonderful needlepoint group. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack and her brother George O. Schmiedehausen. Surviving are her daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Gunther Klits, one niece and four nephews and cousins in Germany. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard King and the Hospice of the Central Coast for their care and support. No services will be held per her wishes. Service Information
