Phyllis Decker

Obituary of Phyllis Decker

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Decker Siegel on Tuesday, May 16th. A native of Denver, Phyllis was a Carmel resident for over forty years. She was involved with the Monterey Film Commission, Carmel Chamber of Commerce, Carmel Art and Film Festival, SPCA, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross and Peace of Mind Dog Rescue. Phyllis was a bright light amongst us - a woman who brought laughter and sunshine and pure happiness when she walked into the room. "To know her was to love her." She cared so much and had a heart whose love could encompass the world. Her passion was helping animals and she worked with an amazing organization Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, helping senior dogs and the elderly of Monterey to care for them. Phyllis died surrounded by love. She is in the arms of those who love her: her parents, her sister, the many wonderful animals she has cared for over the years, especially her most beloved Tilly.
