Obituary of Craig Schieding

As I sit down to write my thoughts I hear Craig’s voice saying “It’s no big deal, I don’t need it, I won’t be here”. Well, that is the reality but we as a family feel the need to - to honor this dearly loved beyond exceptional man. Mere words cannot begin to portray who Craig was. He was foremost an amazing husband, soulmate, devoted father, grandfather “Papa”, father-inlaw, a brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and the best friend anyone could have. He was a man of great intellect who knew something pretty much about everything. A writer and artist of amazing talent. His wit , sense of humor and storytelling endeared him to all who knew him besides those he encountered each day. Craig definitely left an everlasting impression on all of us. Craig courageously fought to live until the very end when he peacefully passed away surrounded by our family. He showed remarkable grit when faced with such long odds and showed each of us just how strong his spirit really was. He beforehand had expressed how sad he was to leave us but each of us must carry on, he “was fine”. We honor Craig by remembering him as the funny, smart and loving father and husband and of the great life that was lived. Cherished. Remembered. Loved forever and always.
