Obituary of Marie June Randazzo

Marie June Randazzo passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in Monterey, CA on February 19th, 2022.  Her life was full and blessed with a family of five generations and many friends.  She was born in Monterey, to Susie and Spiro Pettas and was the youngest of three children.

 

In 1956 she married Matteo Randazzo of Monterey and they shared 42 years together.  Together they raised three children, Francesca, Susan and Andrew.  They enjoyed yearly family vacations to Las Vegas and Disneyland and having a house full of people for parties and gatherings.  Matteo and Marie owned a fish market and restaurant on the Monterey Wharf for many years.

 

Marie was an active member of the Italian Catholic Federation and enjoyed volunteering at lent dinners and other events.  She loved spending time with her girlfriends, playing poker and spending time with her family.  Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  She was proud of her family and always loved having everyone together.

 

Marie treated all people like family with her loving and welcoming spirit.  She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

 

Marie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Susie and Spiro Pettas; husband, Matteo Randazzo; brother and sister-in-law, John and Frances Pettas; brother Horace Pettas; and like a brother to her, Ross Duarte.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Francesca Randazzo; daughter Susan (Gordon) Fehlman; son Andrew (Bobbette) Randazzo; grandchildren Stephen (Victoria) Cefalu, Matthew (Kristen) Fehlman, Theresa (Tomas) Koponen, Andrew John Jr. (AJ) Randazzo and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

 

The family wishes to extend our sincere thank you to The Shake Family for their love, generosity, and longtime friendship.  We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and generosity from all that knew Marie.  The family sends you all a special thank you!

 

Services will be held at the San Carlos Cathedral, Monday, February 28th at 10am.  A private family internment will follow.
